: A Tale of Dignity III

Evangeline's San Pedro Class '62 Memories

At San Pedro School of Nursing
The ladies in white were friendly.
Her young world was so amusing
Notes, books, and friends made her happy.

Prostrate hours on Infant's pleading
With unflinching faith she prayed:
Tessie, her precious stone sparkling
Came to her side and gladly stayed.

Connie, the artist on the go
And Loida, the submissive type.
Mom Thelma told them what to do;
Polly smiled that there was no strife.

Then, there was Chato, the lively
And Fe, the lady professor.
Appeared Marlene of Del Monte;
French Canadians at her succor.

Hail, SPC Class of '62!
Delia de Paz, the peacekeeper.
Marilane Aldea Lim so true;
Rosario Sulit- friend forever.

The mentor, Imelda Dela Cruz
And Winnie, the smiling Gatilao
Were the nurses that drove her woes
From the island of Mindanao.

Memories embossed on the walls
Of her world and time are dance notes
In her sheer emptiness that calls
The silence as the music floats.
