Christmas...

The Birth of Christ 

Christmas is here as we see the light

And the beauty surrounds the earth 

The darkness soon becomes very bright

Proclaiming Jesus's holy birth.

His birth heralds Christianity

John, the Baptist announced his coming

Of salvation and eternity

Glad tidings of a new beginning.

A Virgin kneeling in prayer 
Was asked by an Angel of Light
Favor for God's human nature
"I submit for God.s sake and right".

Mary's Fiat gave light to the world
Brighter than that of the creation
The woman on her Emmanuel
The fruit of passionless passion.

A Divine Love and a woman
A spiritual ecstasy greater
Better than a woman and a man
Which truly is beyond compare.

Christ's birth: a note of moral discord
That was introduced by the first man
Adam's old humanity occurred
The new one in Christ - the Godman.

Cloistered within her for nine months
All the food, the wheat, the wine of life
Nourishment that prevents and stunts
The growth of hatred to end world strife.

A prelude to Holy Eucharist
Which later he would gladly declare
The modern world must not be surprised
But all and sundry must be aware.
